Lady M Cake Boutique Is Opening in Boston's Back Bay

A New York-based bakery that specializes in handmade cakes is on its way to Boston.

A licensing board notice within the City of Boston website mentions that Lady M Cake Boutique is planning to open on Newbury Street in the Back Bay, with a Facebook page from the shop confirming this. Based on its other stores, expect to see cakes with both French and Japanese influences, including its signature crepes cakes which are made using multiple layers of crepes and pastry cream and have options such as chocolate, green tea, strawberry, and more.  Once it opens, the new location of Lady M will join three others in Manhattan and one in Los Angeles, as well as three in Singapore and two in Hong Kong.

According to a post within the Serious Eats site, Ken Romaniszyn--who was inspired by time he spent in Japan while growing up--opened the first Lady M Cake Boutique on Manhattan's Upper East Side in 2004.

The address for this new cake bakery in the Back Bay is: Lady M Cake Boutique, 304 Newbury Street, Boston, MA, 02115. The website for Lady M can be found at http://www.ladym.com/
