An historic dining and drinking spot west of Boston is closing down after nearly 90 years in business.
The Worcester Telegram is reporting that The Old Timer Restaurant in Clinton is getting ready to shut its doors for good, with a press release saying that "After 87 years and careful thought, we have decided that it is time for us to move on and find our pot of gold under a new rainbow....This decision was not an easy one for us, but we feel it is the best interest for our family. We have been blessed to take part in so many special occasions and also to be a part of the wonderful community of Clinton, a truly special town." The article indicates that the restaurant side will close at the end of business hours on January 30, while the pub side will remain open through February 7 (which is the date of the Super Bowl).
