Coming off Vacation Month, Cafe Madeleine in Boston's South End Now Closed for Repairs

A French patisserie in the South End of Boston that closed last month for vacation remains closed this month as well, and it appears to be for a different reason.

According to a Facebook post from the place, Cafe Madeleine on Columbus Avenue is shuttered for the month of March due to unspecified damage to the eatery that will "take some time to repair." The place--which had been closed for the month of February for a seasonal break--looks to reopen on April 1 if all goes as planned.

Cafe Madeleine first opened in the summer of 2014, taking over the space where the Amsterdam Cafe had been; the shop offers such items as croissants, lemon tarts, eclairs, cheesecake, French brownies, quiche, croque monsieur, coffee, and hot chocolate.

The address for Cafe Madeleine is 517 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA, 02118. Its website can be found at http://cafemadeleineboston.com/
