New Pizzeria Apparently Opening in Former Nicola Space in Arlington

It looks like a pizza spot is coming to a space in Arlington where a beloved pizzeria had been for more than 40 years.

According to multiple sources, a new pizza place is planning to open in the former Nicola Pizza House space on Mass. Ave. in Arlington Heights, with some work apparently being done at the site right now. It is not what the pizzeria will be called or when it might open--as soon as we find out more information, we will post an update here.

Nicola's closed in June of 2013, with the space being sold to the owner of Peter Pan Superette on Park Avenue who talked at the time about having another pizza place open in the space. The shop was a very popular place over the years and was known in part for its traditional Neapolitan pizza along with its Sicilian slices, and it also offered subs, wraps, pasta, and various Italian and American meals.

The address for the now-closed Nicola's (and the upcoming pizzeria) in Arlington Heights is 1215 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA, 02476.
