Pete's Pub in Boston's Haymarket Square Closing; Durty Nellie's to Take Its Place

Pete's Pub, a no-frills Haymarket Square watering hole that has been serving drinks to working folks and locals for many years, is closing down. Replacing it will be a place called Durty Nellie's, which will be a two-floor Irish pub and restaurant.

The upstairs section of Durty Nellie's will have a handful of tables for dining, while the downstairs area will remain a pub, though likely more upscale than Pete's Pub.

Pete's will be missed by many (including Haymarket Pizza next door, where people could buy pizzas and bring them into Pete's to enjoy with a beer). Indeed, another bit of "Old Boston" is no more...
