A family-friendly restaurant in Plymouth has closed its doors. According to the Wicked Local Web site, the Colonial Restaurant, which was located on Route 3A in the center of town, ceased operation after more than 60 years in business. The article mentions that the dining spot had faced a number of obstacles, including increased competition from chain restaurants, paid parking, and the closing of nearby government buildings.
Wicked Local goes on to say that the Colonial Tavern, which is located upstairs from the restaurant, will remain open and will feature a new menu.
The Colonial Restaurant had been featured on the Boston's Hidden Restaurants Web site (our sister site) and was considered a top local spot for solid, inexpensive eats.
