A food truck serving vegetarian fare that is located at MIT in Cambridge may soon be opening an actual restaurant in Harvard Square. According to the Massachusetts Public Notices site, Clover Food Lab is looking to open a quick-serve restaurant at 7 Holyoke Street in the heart of the square (where the Harvard University Housing Office used to be). The notice mentions that the CEO of Clover wishes to have a "fast order food establishment" in this space. And according to a poster on the Chowhound site, signs are in the windows at this spot stating that a public hearing is on the way to decide if Clover will indeed be moving in.
[October 14 update: Everything has been approved for Clover's moving into the Holyoke Street spot. An article in The Harvard Crimson mentions that the new restaurant may be opening in early November.]
[November 1 update: According to The Examiner, the new Clover Food Lab restaurant in Harvard Square is now open.]
Clover Food Lab opened their food truck at Carleton Street by MIT in the fall of 2008, featuring a variety of freshly-made vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices. According to an old Boston Globe article, the owner of Clover hopes to have a chain of brick-and-mortar restaurants at some point in the future.
