A small local chain of sandwich shops has closed all three of its Boston locations after being in business for about five years. According to an article in the Boston Business Journal, Pressed Sandwiches shut its doors on Oliver Street, Northern Avenue, and Beacon Street over the weekend and the spaces have been put up for sale. The article indicates that the sandwich shops have been struggling of late due to the poor economy.
Pressed Sandwiches featured salads, homemade soups, and a variety of paninis, including Cubanos, prosciutto and mozzarella, tuna and artichoke, pesto pomodoro, and smoked turkey with brie. The restaurant catered mostly to the business crowd, being open on weekdays for breakfast and lunch (the Northern Avenue location was also open on Saturdays).
