The Center Cafe Opens in Needham

A new restaurant featuring regional cuisine has opened in Needham, replacing a casual upscale dining spot that closed late last year. The Center Cafe is now open on Great Plain Avenue in the center of this western suburb of Boston, moving into the space where Fava was for about 15 years until closing in November of 2009. According to the restaurant's website, The Center Cafe will focus on American fare, with an emphasis on New England dishes.

Items on the menu at The Center Cafe include clam chowder, macaroni and cheese, lobster rolls, black bean burgers, fish and chips, BBQ ribs, cornmeal-crusted trout, and grilled pork tenderloin. Prices for entrees are between $10 and $18, according to their online menu.

Hours are Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Thursday through Saturday from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM. (The restaurant is closed on Mondays.)

The address for this new restaurant in Needham Center is: The Center Cafe, 1027 Great Plain Avenue, Needham, MA, 02492. The phone number is (781) 455-8800. And the website is at: http://www.thecentercafe.com/

Thanks to a poster on the Chowhound site for letting us know that The Center Cafe recently opened.
