It looks like an Irish pub is going to be opening in the space in Lexington where an Italian restaurant recently closed.
According to a poster on the Chowhound site, Waxy O'Connor's plans to open on Hartwell Avenue where Palio's Italian Grill was until closing last month (Max Stein's has been in the space before Palio's, and before that, The Hartwell House). This will be the second location of Waxy O'Connor's in the Boston area, as another one can be found at 121 Main Street (Route 140) in Foxboro. Four other locations can be found in Florida and Texas, including ones in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, South Beach, and San Antonio.
Based on the menu at the Foxboro location, the new Waxy O'Connor's in Lexington will likely feature such items as brown bread, chili, fish fingers, sliders, pizza, shepherds pie, corned beef and cabbage, beef stew, bangers and mash, and chicken pot pie.
