Tim Hortons Closes All of Its Locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut

A Canadian chain of coffee shops with a number of locations in the United States has shut down all of its stores fouin Southern New England.

According to Wicked Local Swansea, Tim Hortons closed its 36 shops in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut last week, leaving Maine as the only state in New England with locations of the eatery. The article mentions that the Ontario-based chain will be turning its attention instead to its remaining U.S. outlets in the Northeast (including Maine and New York) as well as the Middle Atlantic and Great Lakes states, plus Kentucky.

Tim Hortons first started out in the 1960s as a coffee and doughnut shop, eventually expanding its menu to include breakfast items, baked good, soups, and sandwiches. The chain also has a partnership with the Cold Stone Creamery ice cream chain, with a number of co-branded stores.
