It looks like a California firm may be buying a Boston-based company--and the six restaurant chains that are part of it.
According to Patrick Maguire of the Server Not Servant blog, the Back Bay Restaurant Group is apparently going to be sold to San Francisco-based Tavistock Restaurants LLC. An article in The Boston Globe also talks about this, mentioning that the deal has not been finalized yet, with an expected closing of the deal by late February. The Back Bay Restaurant Group, which first went public in the early 1990s, includes Abe & Louie's, Atlantic Fish, Charley's, Coach Grill, Joe's American Bar & Grill, and Papa Razzi.
Tavistock owns such restaurants as the Alcatraz Brewing Company, the California Cafe, Sapporo, and ZED451.
