Happy Owl Cafe in Brighton Has Closed; Abby's Cafe Replacing It

Yet another restaurant is apparently on the way to Henshaw Street in Brighton, as the previous spot only lasted a few months, while the eatery before it only lasted about a year.

According to their website, the Happy Owl Cafe is no longer in business, recently closing after opening in late January of this year. The Happy Owl had replaced Cafe 57 & Grille, a European-style cafe that opened in late 2009. According to a post on the EveryBlock Boston site, another new dining spot called Abby's Cafe has been given a business license to operate in the Henshaw Street space. There appears to be little information on this upcoming restaurant; as soon as we find out more about it, we will post an update here.

[July 15 update: According to the restaurant's website, Abby's Cafe is now open. The new place features a mix of Mediterranean, American, and Italian dishes, including grape leaves, falafel, pizza, veal parmesan, pasta with meatballs, burgers, roast beef sandwiches, and more.]

The address for this new restaurant in Brighton is: Abby's Cafe, 5-7 Henshaw Street, Brighton, MA, 02135. Their website can be found at http://abbyscafebrighton.com/
