Porter Cafe Opens in West Roxbury

A new restaurant and bar has just opened in the West Roxbury section of Boston.

According to one a follower of the Hiddenboston Twitter page (and confirmed onby the restaurant's Facebook page), the Porter Cafe is now open on Centre Street, bringing to the neighborhood a place to get American fare along with a number of different types of beers and wines. Based on an earlier West Roxbury Transcript/Wicked Local article as well as posts on Yelp, it appears that the new eatery is featuring such items as steak frites, burgers, scallops, and pork, along with a good number of beers both on tap and in bottles, as well as many wine options.

It appears that for now, anyway, the Porter Cafe will only be open for dinner, with hours being 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM daily, according to their Facebook page.

The West Roxbury Transcript article mentions that the Porter Cafe is located in the building where a tragic fire occurred back in 2007. (Two firefighters were killed in the fire.)

The address for this new restaurant and bar in West Roxbury is: Porter Cafe, 1723 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA, 02132. Their Facebook page can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Porter-cafe/146441248758571
