A popular Boston-based chain of seafood restaurants is going to be closing one of its locations on New York's Long Island.
According to Newsday, the Legal Sea Foods location at Roosevelt Field in Garden City will be closing on January 22, 2012, a little more than a week before its lease expires there. The article mentions that the chain is looking at nearby sites in which to open a new spot, and hopes that patrons will visit the Legal Sea Foods restaurant at the Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington Station (which is about 15 miles east) until a new one opens in or around Garden City.
Legal Sea Foods first opened in Roosevelt Field in 2004, about four years after the Huntington State outlet opened. One other location exists in the state (in White Plains), with many of the Legal Sea Foods restaurants being concentrated in the Boston area (locations can also be found in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington, DC).
The address for this soon-to-close seafood restaurant on Long Island is: Legal Sea Foods, 630 Old Country Road, Garden City, NY, 11530. The website for the chain can be found at http://www.legalseafoods.com/
