A Canadian coffee chain that is part of a Vermont-based chain of bakeries has opened its first U.S. location, and it can be found in a neighborhood of Boston.
According to Nation's Restaurant News (NRN), Timothy's Cafe is now open in West Roxbury, moving into the Hancock Village shopping plaza on the VFW Parkway. The coffee restaurant, which opened over the weekend, is situated next to a location of Bruegger's, a chain of bagel bakeries headquartered in Burlington, VT, that bought Timothy's a few years back. The article states that the new Timothy's Cafe in West Roxbury offers more than 30 coffee options along with baked goods and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. The 1,800-square-foot space, which has a capacity of about 30, is the 90th location of the chain, with the others all being located in Canada. [Ed Note: Timothy's used to operate a number of "Timothy's Coffees of the World" coffee shops in the United States, including at least one in Boston, but they all closed down about 10 years ago. Thanks to a couple of posters on the Hiddenboston Twitter page for bringing this to our attention.]
We are still trying to get the exact address for the new Timothy's Cafe, but the address for Bruegger's next door is 667 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA, 02132. The website for the Timothy's Cafe chain can be found at http://timothyscafes.com/
