A lunch and dinner spot in the Financial District of Boston that features a variety of sandwiches is getting ready to close its doors.
An email (and photo) sent by one of our readers indicates that Bakey's Restaurant on Broad Street is going to be closing on Friday, November 11, with the closing being apparently due to their new landlord making renovations to the building. The restaurant has been known in part as a place to go for business/power lunches, with their menu including such sandwiches as tuna salad, corned beef, liverwurst, salami, roast beef, chicken salad, peanut butter, sardines, pastrami, and a number of combo sandwiches.
It is not known at this time what restaurant, if any, may be going into the Bakey's space. [November 11 update: According to Universal Hub, a new place called The Warehouse on Broad is planning to move into the spot. An email from a person behind the upcoming restaurant indicates that they are still awaiting approval on the city and state level for the liquor license transfer along with neighborhood approval on the concept and menu before moving ahead with The Warehouse on Broad.]
The address for Bakey's is: Bakey's, 45 Broad Street, Boston, MA, 02109.
