An upscale Asian restaurant is looking to open in a southern suburb of Boston, and the folks behind it run several other dining spots in and around the city.
According to the Canton Patch, Canton Gourmet is planning on opening at Cobb's Corner in Canton, taking over the space where Talbot's used to be. The article mentions that town selectmen have approved an all-alcohol license for the dining spot, though the state still needs to give its approval on the license (if it does, the next steps are a common victualler license and building permits). It appears that the owners of Canton Gourmet are apparently the same people who run Jae's in Boston's South End, Samba and Asian C in Framingham, and Gourmet Garden in Swampscott, as the Patch article states that the owners "have similar restaurants in Boston, Framingham and Swampscott."
Once it opens, expect Canton Gourmet to feature hibachi tables and a sushi bar, as well as a dining room, with Japanese and Chinese fare included on the menu.
Canton Gourmet could be open by next spring, according to the Patch.
The address for this upcoming Asian restaurant in Canton will be: Canton Gourmet, 95 Washington Street, Canton, MA, 02021.
