A new Japanese restaurant that features both sushi and hot pot is getting ready to open in a section of Boston's Fenway neighborhood that was ravaged by a fire a few years ago.
According to the Thrillist site, Swish Shabu is planning to open on Peterborough Street on Monday, February 6, making this the fourth eatery to open within the street's "restaurant row," about three years after a fire ripped through several businesses here. (Swish Shabu is the first new restaurant to open on this stretch of Peterborough Street; El Pelon Taqueria, Rod Dee, and Thornton's are the other three places that are now open, and they had been in the block when the fire hit.) Based on the Thrillist article, the 58-seat Swish Shabu features a sushi bar, custom-made Corian tables with stoves, and leather banquettes. The restaurant's menu includes soups, small plates, hot pot, and sushi, along with drinks such as sake and beer.
The address for this new Japanese restaurant in the Fenway is: Swish Shabu, 84-86 Peterborough Street, Boston, MA 02215. Their website can be found at http://swish-shabu.com/
