May Is National Burger Month

Attention, burger lovers--May 1 marks the start of a very important month for you.

An email sent by Image Unlimited Communications indicates that May is "National Burger Month," and with it, a number of Boston-area burgers that they recommend, including the following:

-- Prime Burger (from The Beehive in the South End) with house-made frites and slaw ($15.00), with cheddar, gorgonzola, fontina or bacon for $.50 extra

-- Poe Burger (Poe's Kitchen at the Rattlesnake in the Back Bay): Lobster, foie gras and black truffle-stuffed Kobe beef burger served with whiskey bacon, avocado and Irish whiskey cheese ($18.75)

-- Burger (Davio's in the Back Bay): Cheddar, onion rings, pickles, steak sauce ($16.00)

-- Towne's Burger (Towne Stove and Spirits in the Back Bay): Bacon and cheddar ($16.00)

-- Woodward's Hamburger (Woodward at AMES in downtown Boston): Smoked tomato jam and Vermont cheddar cheese, served with French fries ($15.00)

-- Sliced Filet Mignon Burger (Fleming's in the Back Bay): Sauteed mushrooms and bearnaise sauce, served with a mini wedge salad and onion rings ($18.00)
