According to their website, FroyoWorld is planning to open in Allston, making this the first Boston-area location of the small New Haven-based chain (currently, the closest shop is in Franklin). Based on information from their site, it looks like the Harvard Avenue store could be open sometime later this summer, and a post on the EveryBlock Boston site indeed indicates that the Allston location has just received a business license to operate.
FroyoWorld shops are self-serve frozen yogurt lounges that have 8-12 rotating flavors each month, with as many as 45 different toppings offered, including fruit toppings that are prepared fresh daily. The chain has locations in New Haven, Hamden, North Haven, and Westport, CT, as well as Providence, RI, and Franklin and Amherst, MA (with several more on the way to Southern New England).
