Jose Duarte of Taranta in Boston's North End Honored by Komen MA

The chef and owner of a restaurant in the North End of Boston has been honored by a foundation dedicated to help fight breast cancer.

An email from Regan Communications indicates that on August 8, Jose Duarte of Taranta was presented by The Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Komen MA) with the Business Partner Promise Award for his outstanding leadership and service in the community. Duarte, who received the honor at the first annual Volunteer & Donor Appreciation Event at the W Hotel Boston, was recognized in part for being a frequent participant in Komen MA's annual Chefs for the Cure culinary event that is held each spring. He was also mentioned as being awarded "Boston's most gracious host" by Stuff magazine in 2006 and 2007, and was noted as being a leader in the green movement concerning sustainability and green business.

Taranta can be found at 210 Hanover Street in the North End.
