Conductor's Restaurant Plans to Open in the Harvard Square Section of Cambridge

It looks like a new restaurant may be coming to Cambridge's Harvard Square, and it would be moving into the space where a Swiss eatery had once been.

A License Commission General Hearing page on the City of Cambridge website indicates that Darren Messina is seeking to acquire an all alcoholic beverages as a restaurant license from the former Hoffa's Swiss Alps Restaurant, with plans to open what would tentatively be called Conductor's Restaurant. It appears that this may be the same Darren Messina who is involved with Carpenter & Company, a real estate developer, owner, and manager that worked on the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square (which is next to the Mt. Auburn Street building where the new eatery would be) as well as the Liberty Hotel in Boston, though we are still trying to confirm this. Plans for Conductor's Restaurant include seating for 133 as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner served seven days a week.

The building in which Conductor's Restaurant would move into is called the Conductor's Building.

The address for this planned restaurant in Harvard Square is 112 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138.

[February 12 update: Eater Boston reports (via the City of Cambridge website) that Conductor's Restaurant is one step closer to happening, as the liquor license transfer has been approved.]
