The Red Raven (a New Gastropub) Is Opening in Acton

A new gastropub is on its way to a town not exactly known for its gastropubs.

The Restaurant Hub blog of the Boston Globe is reporting (via the Chowhound site) that The Red Raven will be opening in Acton, taking over the pondside space at Nagog Park where Scupper Jack's/The Rusty Scupper had been. The article says that the Executive Chef at the upcoming eatery is Josh Buehler, who comes from the now-closed KO Prime in downtown Boston as well as Eastern Standard in the city's Kenmore Square neighborhood, while the restaurant's website mentions that it will have a "fresh elevated pub menu and farm to table cuisine."

Expect an early fall opening for The Red Raven, according to its website.

[July 25 update: The Red Raven is one step closer to opening, as the Acton Beacon mentions that town selectmen approved an alcoholic beverage license for the place earlier this week.]

[November 24 update: According to a post on its Facebook page, The Red Raven is now open.]

The address for this new gastropub in Acton is: The Red Raven, 3 Nagog Park, Acton, MA, 01720. The website for the dining spot can be found at http://www.redravenacton.com/
