Hardee's to Return to the Northeast, with Plans Including Locations in Massachusetts

A hamburger chain that left the Northeast a number of years ago is now poised to make a return, with locations planned for four states in the region, including Massachusetts.

The Boston Business Journal is reporting (via Business Wire) that Hardee's is looking to open 200 branches in the area, with openings coming to New Jersey and New York, followed by Massachusetts and Connecticut. Hardee's used to have locations in the Northeast, but all of them were shuttered by the 1990s.

Hardee's is currently a subsidiary of California-based CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc., which also owns, operates, and franchises locations of the Carl's Jr. chain. The website for Hardee's can be found at http://www.hardees.com/

Expect to see the Hardee's outlets opening in the region over the next 12 to 18 months.
