A&B Salem Is Opening in Former Great Escape Space

A new burger and beer spot is replacing another restaurant on the North Shore, moving into a space that used to be a jail.

The Salem Patch is reporting that A&B Salem will be opening on St. Peter Street, taking over the space where the Great Escape restaurant has been since 2010. The article mentions that the eatery will be a "semi-quick serve" spot that focuses on healthier beef from small farms, and it will also feature regional and national craft beers. Expect to see A&B Salem open sometime in November.

[December 10 update: According to a post on its Facebook page, A&B Salem is now open (it appears to have opened last week).]

The building in which A&B Salem will reside is a 200-year-old jail complex that was renovated and turned into the Great Escape back in September of 2010.

The address for this new burger and beer place in Salem is: A&B Salem, 50 St. Peter Street, Salem, MA, 01970. Its Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/pages/AB-Burgers/512226788812725
