Sugar Baking Co. and Restaurant in Roslindale Has Closed

A restaurant in the Roslindale section of Boston has closed its doors.

Universal Hub is reporting that Sugar Baking Co. & Restaurant on Washington Street on the northern edge of Roslindale Village is no longer in operation, having closed yesterday. The eatery, which first opened in January of 2011, had shut down its bakery awhile back, and at that time we had heard that the restaurant may eventually be shuttering as well, though there was no confirmation until this weekend. The other dining spots affiliated with Sugar Baking Co. & Restaurant--including the original Sugar Bakery in West Roxbury as well as outlets of the Real Deal sandwich shops in Brighton, Jamaica Plain, and West Roxbury--remain open.

[May 20 update: Any hopes for a new restaurant to move into the former Sugar Baking Co. space in Roslindale appear to have been dashed, as Universal Hub mentions that FitChoice (a fitness club) is moving in.]

The address for this now-closed restaurant in Roslindale was: Sugar Baking Co. & Restaurant, 4172 Washington Street, Roslindale, MA, 02131. The website for the original Sugar is at
