The Davis Square LiveJournal blog is reporting that American Bakers is planning to open on College Avenue, moving into the space where Artifaktori had been. A page on the City of Somerville website mentions that the bakery would have 18 seats with 600 square feet of space (plus another 600 square feet for a working area and basement storage), though little other information on American Bakers is available at this point in time, so keep checking back for updates.
[September 11 update: Eater Boston mentions that American Bakers is now open in Davis Square, with the place being a bakery-cafe that offers such items as breakfast sandwiches, soups, salads, panini, pastries, coffee, and tea. EB also says that another location of the spot can be found in Charlestown (on 1st Avenue).]
