Announcement May Come Soon on Restaurant Plans for Former Locke-Ober Space in Boston

It looks like we may soon know more about a restaurant coming to a landmark space in downtown Boston.

The Boston Herald is reporting that negotiations are currently taking place for a dining spot to come to the main dining room of the now-closed Locke-Ober on Winter Street, with the announcement possibly coming in mid-May, when the building officially reopens as Winter Place Residences. Earlier we had reported that Jay Hajj of Mike's City Diner on Washington Street and Michael Fallman of the Plymouth-based British Beer Company had been looking to open a restaurant within the space, but we have not been able to confirm that this is still the case (more updates will be coming here soon).

Locke-Ober first opened its doors in 1875, featuring classic American fare in an elegant setting.

The address for the building is 3 Winter Place, Boston, MA, 02108.
