According to an article in Cambridge Day and a post in Eater Boston, Loyal Nine is planning to open on Cambridge Street, moving into a space about midway between Inman Square and Lechmere where a liquor store had been. The restaurant and bar, which gets its name from a group of patriots who protested the Stamp Act in the 1760s, will focus on shareable small plates using locally-sourced ingredients, with dishes being influenced by food items that were served in colonial times around Boston. It looks like Loyal Nine could have seating for 160 people and a seasonal patio outside, along with a cafe section during the day and a small bar. (Cambridge Day also states that the dining and drinking spot will have no TVs.)
If all goes as planned, Loyal Nine may be opening in March of 2015.
[March 22, 2015 update: The Boston Globe is reporting that Loyal Nine will open sometime this week.]
[March 27, 2015 update: UrbanDaddy says that Loyal Nine is opening tomorrow (Saturday, March 28).]
The address for this new restaurant in East Cambridge is: Loyal Nine, 660 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA, 02141.
