Bistro 781 Is Opening in Waltham

A few months after having a "Stop Work" order posted on its storefront, it looks like an upcoming dining spot on Waltham's "restaurant row" is once again planning to open.

Based on a new Facebook page set up by the restaurant, Bistro 781 is going to be opening in the Moody Street space where New Mother India had been for more than 30 years until closing last September. Approximately two months after its closure, we had reported that a freeze on work had been ordered for the new eatery, though no other details were available at the time. When it does open, Bistro 781 will reportedly be an upscale American bistro that is run by the previous owner of the former New Landing restaurant, which had also been located on Moody Street.

[July 19 update: According to a Facebook post from the place, Bistro 781 is opening its doors on Tuesday (July 21) at 5:00 PM.]

[October 26 update: The Waltham News Tribune mentions that Bistro 781 has been open in a "somewhat limited" capacity since debuting in July, but it is now fully open, with its grand opening taking place this past Saturday.]

The address for Bistro 781 is 336 Moody Street, Waltham, MA, 02453; its Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/Bistro781
