Bliss Bros. Dairy in Attleboro Has Been Sold

A landmark restaurant, ice cream manufacturer, milk distributor, and retail shop southwest of Boston has been sold after being in business for nearly a century.

According to an article in The Sun Chronicle, Bliss Bros. Dairy in Attleboro has been purchased by Taunton-based New England Ice Cream Corp. for approximately $4.4 million, with Bliss Bros. President David Bliss saying he sold the family-owned company because his family wants to pursue other interests and he is interested in "slowing down." New England Ice Cream owner Bruce Ginsberg mentions that the business will not be changing, though it is not known whether the name will remain in place, and it looks like the transition will take place over the coming months, with Bliss helping out with the transition.

Bliss Bros. Dairy, which first started out in the 1920s, is a place that our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) has featured as an under-the-radar spot to go to for comfort food and ice cream. A link to the review can be found below:

The address for Bliss Bros. Dairy is 711 Park Street (Route 118), Attleboro, MA, 02703; its website can be found at
