Boston Nightlife Ventures to Open Certified Meatball Company

It looks like a new restaurant is on its way to the Boston area, and a local group is behind it.

Eater Boston is reporting that the windows of the former Dragon Garden in Davis Square are covered with paper that shows the Boston Nightlife Ventures brand and that BNV president Euz Azevedo says (via Twitter) they are "coming in hot" to the square. While EB speculates on whether the new eatery might be another location of Griddler's, another tweet from Azevedo says that their "next concept" is opening in the space, so it is not exactly known what it might be at this point.

[April 7 update: According to a poster on the Davis Square LiveJournal blog, the new restaurant from BNV will be called Certified Meatball Company, and based on its Facebook page (at https://www.facebook.com/certifiedmeatball), it looks like the place will be a family-friendly Italian spot. (Thanks to Eater Boston for bringing this to our attention.)]

[August 10 update: One of our readers says that the signage for Certified Meatball Company has come down, though no other news is out about the proposed spot.]

[August 17 update: A new article from Eater Boston mentions that a "For Lease" sign is now up in the window of the space where Certified Meatball Company was supposed to be, though an update from EB indicates that plans for the dining spot are still in place, but it will be in a different (and undisclosed) location.]

In addition to Griddler's, Boston Nightlife Ventures is also behind The Tap Trailhouse and Wink & Nod, along with the now-closed Forum restaurant.

The address for this proposed restaurant in Davis Square is 261 Elm Street, Somerville, MA, 02144. The website for BNV can be found at http://www.boston-nightlife-ventures.com/
