King Arthur's Lounge Space in Chelsea May Become a New Strip Club

Last year, we reported that an infamous strip club just north of Boston had shut down, with a proposal coming out a few months later that might bring a hotel to the site, presumably in response to casino plans nearby. Now we have learned that it might be reborn as a strip joint once again.

The Chelsea Record is reporting that an application has been submitted to bring a "suit and tie" strip club to the former King Arthur's Lounge space in Chelsea, with the place being called the Phantom Club. The article says that the proposed spot would "cater to an upscale crowd," and that bar food such as burgers and wings would be offered if the place receives a common victualler license. Currently, plans are in the very early stages for the Phantom Club, with the city's License Commission giving the application an initial reading; there will be a public hearing on the proposal at some point, according to the newspaper.

The address for the now-closed King Arthur's Lounge is 200 Beacham Street, Chelsea, MA, 02150.

Thanks to Universal Hub for initially bringing this to our attention.
