Sully C's Sports Bar and Grill in Saugus Hit by Fire

A restaurant and bar north of Boston is closed for the time being due to a fire that caused significant damage to the place over the weekend.

According to an article in the Daily Item of Lynn, Sully C's Sports Bar and Grill in Saugus was hit by a blaze Saturday morning that affected both the interior and exterior of the structure, including water damage as well as damage to the ceiling, roof, foyer, and areas around the signage. A Facebook post from the dining and drinking establishment mentions that it will be closed "for a few weeks," with the article quoting Fire Chief Donald P. McQuaid as saying "I don't think they're going to open up for some time," adding that the building is unusable in its current condition.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown, though it appears that it was accidental, according to the fire chief. Approximate damage to the building is somewhere around $100,000.

[July 13 update: A post on its Facebook page indicates that Sully C's plans to reopen in September.]
