Tilted Kilt to Take Over Max and Dylans Space in Billerica

What was once a popular group of upscale comfort food restaurants has now completely disappeared from the local scene, and it looks like a location of a small chain of Celtic-themed sports bars may take over the space.

According to one of our readers, Max and Dylans in Billerica is no longer in business, with a check on the restaurant's website confirming that the last location of this dining spot has indeed shuttered. Our source also says that the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery is planning to move into the Middlesex Turnpike space (and a post from mypublicnotices.com also shows this), which also confirms an earlier article here mentioning that the bar was looking to come to Billerica. (Another location of the Tilted Kilt--which is often known as the "Scottish Hooters"--is opening in Boston's Fenway neighborhood as well.)

Max and Dylans once had three locations in the Greater Boston area, including in Downtown Crossing, Charlestown, and Billerica; the Legendary Restaurant Group, which was behind the restaurants, replaced the other two Max and Dylans with locations of Papagayo Mexican Kitchen and Bar (with the Charlestown location of Papagayo closing and moving to Saugus). Papagayo can also be found in Fort Point and Somerville's Assembly Row, while other Legendary Restaurant Group spots include Scollay Square in Beacon Hill, Sip Wine Bar and Kitchen in downtown Boston, and Burger Dive in Assembly Row.

The address for the now-closed Max and Dylans (and upcoming Tilted Kilt) in Billerica is 15 Middlesex Turnpike, Billerica, MA, 01821.

[June 24, 2016 update: According to a Facebook post, the opening of the Tilted Kilt in Billerica will take place in "Just a few more weeks."]
