Conde Nast Traveler Includes Eastern Standard in Boston Among Its Picks for World's Greatest Bars

A travel magazine has come out with its picks for the world's greatest bars, and a Boston spot has been included on the list.

A recent article/slideshow on the 30 greatest bars in the world shows that Conde Nast Traveler has put Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square among the best, with a blurb from Chris Himmel (Grill 23, Post 390) saying that "The bar team at Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drink views the drink process as a conversation. For example, they listen to what is happening around them and craft their beverage selection with a point of view in mind." Himmel goes on to mention the "Remember the Maine" cocktail (rye whiskey, vermouth, cherry heering, absinthe), which is his current favorite there.

The only other spot in New England to make Conde Nast's list of greatest bars in the world is Ordinary in New Haven, with three New York City bars (Angel's Share, The Lambs Club Bar, and Pegu Club) also making the grade.
