According to an article from Vanyaland, owners Joseph and Nabil Sater of The Middle East in Cambridge's Central Square have put out a petition to operate what appears to be a separate music club next door in the space where T.T. the Bear's Place had been until closing on July 25. The petition states that the owners are looking to "increase their capacity of The Middle East and ZuZu by an increase in their occupancy and space by expanding into 10 Brookline Street (formerly T.T. The Bear's) to their Restaurant/club." Joseph Sater told Vanyaland that they plan to leave the former T.T.'s space "the way it is" and that the space would be operated as its "own room" that is separate from the upstairs and downstairs section of The Middle East.
A copy of the online petition can be seen via the change.org site.
[August 19 update: According to an article in the Cambridge Chronicle and TAB, Joseph and Nabil Sater submitted an application to the city of Cambridge yesterday to renovate the former T.T. the Bear's space, with the plan being to make it a music room that's part of the Middle East. Joseph Sater also says that once the space reopens--pending city approval--they will get in touch with former employees of T.T.'s to see if they would like to work there again. (It appears that renovations to the room would take a couple of months, according to the post.)]
[September 24 update: A License Commission General Hearing page within the City of Cambridge website indicates that Nabil Sater has applied to expand the Common Victualer License for the Middle East and ZuZu into the former T.T. the Bear's space, with the hearing taking place on Tuesday, September 29. The page also mentions that the manager of T.T. the Bear's has applied to hold its liquor license as being inactive.]
The address for the former T.T. the Bear's space is 10 Brookline Street, Cambridge, MA, 02139.
