The Stoughton Journal is reporting that Sonic Drive-In is looking to open on Route 138, moving into the space in the Stoughton Town Center plaza where a location of Friendly's had been. The article indicates that this location of the chain has been a long time in the making, and that its plans to open by the end of this year no longer seem realistic, with a possible opening coming in the second quarter of 2016 instead if all goes well. Once it does open, the new Sonic will join others in Lawrence, Peabody, and Wilmington.
