Maxim Coffee House in Chinatown Has Closed

Another longtime bakery in Boston has shut down, and the reason for its closure appears to be a familiar one.

According to several sources, including @FortPointer who posted a couple of pictures last night, Maxim Coffee House has closed for good, with the Harrison Avenue spot showing a sign out front that says "loss of lease -- closed after 33 years." This is the second bakery to shutter in general area recently, with Quinzani's Bakery on Harrison Avenue in the South End closing last month and the building going up for sale.

Maxim Coffee House--which was simply known as Coffee House to many--offered such items as pork buns, sticky rice rolls, custard tarts, sponge cake, and more.

The address for this now-closed bakery in Chinatown was: Maxim Coffee House, 62 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA, 02111.
