Shanghai Village in Arlington Is Reopening with Sushi Bar Added to Space

A Chinese restaurant northwest of Boston is currently closed for renovations, and when it reopens, it will have a brand new addition to the space.

The Arlington Advocate is reporting that Shanghai Village in Arlington Center is in the process of adding a sushi bar to the dining spot, with manager Andy Lian saying that "Not everyone wants just Chinese cuisine or just sushi, but here they can have both." Lian says that in addition to sushi, the restaurant may also start to offer more traditional-style Chinese fare as well at some point, though no specific information was given on this. If all goes as planned, the Mass. Ave. eatery should be opening back up with the sushi bar in place later this month or in early November.

[November 6 update: According to a brief post in the latest Advocate, Shanghai Village was planning to reopen yesterday with the new sushi bar in place.]

Shanghai Village has been open for approximately 35 years.

The address for this restaurant in Arlington Center is: Shanghai Village, 434 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA, 02474.
