Tom's BaoBao Is Opening in Cambridge's Harvard Square

A new Chinese dining spot featuring steamed buns is coming to one of the busiest parts of Cambridge, and the person behind it plans to open more locations in the region along with a food truck.

Eater Boston is reporting that Tom's BaoBao is planning to open within the Crimson Galleria in Harvard Square, with a second location and a food truck also apparently coming to the Boston area in the spring of 2016. According to EB, 30 locations of the fast-casual eatery are planned for the Northeast over the next five years, and the flagship for the upcoming chain will be the Harvard Square location.

The creator of the Tom's BaoBao concept is Tom Tong, who founded the Chinese bao company GanQiShi along with several other companies; the blog for Tom's BaoBao calls Tong "part CEO, part tea expert, part international man of mystery."

The address for this new dining spot in Harvard Square is: Tom's BaoBao, 84 Winthrop Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138.
