The Aegean in Watertown Has Closed

One of the best-known Greek restaurants in the Boston area has shut its doors.

According to several sources, The Aegean in Watertown is no longer in business, with the website for the Arsenal Street dining spot confirming this, saying that its lease has "come to an end." Its other location on Route 30 in Framingham remains in operation.

The Aegean first started out in another storefront on Route 30 in Framingham in 1981, with its Watertown restaurant opening in 2001. (The Framingham location moved to its present space in 2005.) Both locations of The Aegean have been known for their Greek and Greek-American fare in a family-friendly environment that is also good for large groups.

The address for the now-closed Aegean in Watertown was 640 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA, 02472; the website for the Framingham location is at http://www.aegeanrestaurants.com/
