Shalimar of India in Cambridge's Central Square Is Closed

A restaurant in the Central Square neighborhood of Cambridge is shuttered for the time being, and it is not known when it may reopen again.

According to a Facebook post from the place, Shalimar of India on Mass. Ave. is apparently closed for renovations, with the note saying that they "hope to get back and running as soon as possible so we can get back to serving top quality Indian food." The closure appears to have taken place around the beginning of the month, as the post was put up on March 4.

Shalimar of India, which has been in business for more than 25 years, is known in part for its daily lunch buffet.

The address for this restaurant in Central Square is: Shalimar of India, 546 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02139. Its website can be found at http://www.shalimarcambridge.com/

Thanks to a poster on the Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook page for initially bringing this to our attention.
