Tree House Brewing Co. Is Opening New Facility in Charlton

One of the highest-rated breweries in the state is going to be expanding.

The Craft Beer Boston blog states (via the brewery) that Tree House Brewing Co. in Monson is planning to open a second facility in Charlton, with this one being larger in size (45,000 square feet compared to approximately 10,000 square feet in Monson) and including a brewhouse, retail space, a taproom, and an outdoor pavilion. The brewery hopes to start work on the space this spring and could have the new facility up and running sometime in the first half of 2017, at which point the original facility in Monson will be used as a barrel hall and a space for "special projects."

Tree House Brewing Co. has received much praise since originally starting out in Brimfield in 2011; Beer Advocate currently shows that nine of the ten top-rated beers in Massachusetts come from the brewery.

[July 17, 2017 update: Boston Magazine reports that the new facility for Tree House Brewing Co. is now open, with the 70-acre space being on a "very central but secluded" space along Route 20 in Charlton. The older location of Tree House in Monson is closed for the time being, but it will eventually reopen, though the articles says that while both facilities will be selling bottles and cans to customers, there are currently no plans to distribute their products to bars or stores. Hours for the new location of Tree House are (for now) 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesdays, 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursdays and Fridays, and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturdays.]
