Four Burgers in Cambridge's Central Square Has Closed

It looks like a burger spot in Cambridge has shut its doors for good.

According to a Facebook post from the place, Four Burgers in the Central Square section of the city has decided to close, with the note saying that its last day was looking like either June 15 or June 17; a commenter on the page mentions that the Mass. Ave. eatery has indeed closed--though the closing date was not specified--while phone calls to the dining spot this evening were not going through. The reason given for Four Burgers' closure is that the owner (Michael Bissanti) has "been in the restaurant business for over 25 years....it's time to move on. Also, I always told myself that when I couldn't get excited to go to work in the morning that I'd sell...that's how I've been feeling for quite a while now. So, I'm going to pursue new opportunities and new challenges." It appears that another burger place with a new name and new owner will be taking over the space at some point, according to the Facebook thread.

Four Burgers first opened in Cambridge in the spring of 2008; a second location opened on Boylston Street by Boston Common in 2011, but it shut down two years later.

The address for the now-closed Four Burgers in Central Square was 704 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139.
