Duy Tran Is Opening DooWee's Cambridge within Monroe Space in Central Square

The person who was behind a now-closed Asian restaurant in Somerville--and who has also been involved with an Allston drinking spot--is going to be in charge of a restaurant within a Cambridge space that includes a nightclub.

According to a poster within the Chowhound site, Duy Tran is now at Monroe in Central Square, with an Instagram post from him confirming this, showing a picture and the note "Say hello to my new dining room." A Tweet from Tran mentions that the dining space will have a soft opening sometime this month and a grand opening toward the end of the month or during the first week of August. A note to us from Tran within Instagram indicates that the restaurant will be called "DooWee's Cambridge" and that he will be taking over their kitchen and bringing his menu.

Duy Tran was previously behind DooWee and Rice in Somerville and was involved with Wonder Bar in Allston as well; a couple of his signature food items include his bao baos and chicken wings.

Monroe first opened in January of this year, taking over the former Moksa/Naga space while being under the same ownership (Solmon and Rokeya Chowdhury of Shanti and Dudley Cafe).

The address for Monroe is 450 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02139. Its website is at http://moksalounge.com/

[July 31 update: A Facebook post from Monroe indicates that DooWee's Cambridge (which may also be called DooWee's @ Monroe) soft opens tomorrow (Monday, August 1).]
