Nonna's Italian Bar and Grill in Waltham Has Closed

An Italian restaurant and bar that was located on a well-known "Restaurant Row" has shut down with what appears to be little notice.

According to a Facebook post from The Waltham Channel, Nonna's Italian Bar & Grill on Moody Street abruptly closed on July 1, with a tweet from the eatery saying that "At this time, Nonna's Bar & Grill is closed for business. We want to thank our loyal customers for your support!!" It is not yet known whether this closure is temporary or permanent; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.

Nonna's first opened in August of 2015, taking over the space where Erawan of Siam had been for approximately 30 years. The dining and drinking spot offered mostly Italian-American dishes including veal parmigiana, chicken marsala, rigatoni bolognese, penne alla vodka, risotto, and pizza.

The address for this now-closed restaurant in Waltham is: Nonna's Bar & Grill, 469 Moody Street, Waltham, MA, 02453.

[August 2 update: The website for Nonna's is now down, and posts on social media indicate that a For Lease sign has been seen in the restaurant's window, so it appears that this is a permanent closure.]
