Tasty Burger Issues Cease and Desist Request to Chipotle Over Its Tasty Made Logo, Mark, and Name

A local group of burger restaurants may be headed for a trademark battle with a national chain.

According to a press release, Tasty Burger has sent a cease and desist letter to Chipotle over its new "Tasty Made" concept (which plans to debut this fall), with the Boston-based group saying the concept's logo and mark are "unmistakably similar" to that of Tasty Burger. The release says that Chiptole was sent the letter on July 19, but has "continued to ignore" the cease and resist request. (A Twitter post from @megansarahj shows the comparisons.)

As mentioned in the press release, Tasty Burger has no connection to Chipotle whatsoever.

Tasty Burger is part of The Franklin Restaurant Group, which include locations of the burger restaurant in Boston's Fenway, Back Bay Station, Dudley Square in Roxbury, South Boston, and Cambridge's Harvard Square, along with locations of Franklin Cafe in the South End and in Gloucester, and Citizen Public House & Oyster Bar in the Fenway.
