Shaking Crab in Newton Is Opening New location in Quincy

A Cajun seafood place that opened west of Boston around the beginning of the year is going to be opening another location south of the city.

According to a post on the Quincy Is Everything Facebook group page from @footballfacts, Shaking Crab in Newton is planning to open in Quincy Center, moving into a space on Cottage Street that @footballfacts calls the downtown area's "pending restaurant row." (Quincy Center is in the midst of major renovations/upgrades.) Once it opens, expect such items as fried oysters, crab legs, mussels, lobster, macaroni and cheese, sweet tea, and more at the new spot.

Shaking Crab, which took over the old Francesca's space on Adams Street in Newton's Nonantum neighborhood, is one of a few Cajun seafood restaurants to open in the Boston area of late, including such places as Loui Loui in Stoneham and Holly Crab in Allston.

[March 22, 2017 update: Both the Quincy Is Everything Facebook group page and @footballfacts say that Shaking Crab is hoping to open in Quincy this weekend if all goes well.]
